Harry's Heroes - Anybody catch this last night?
I thought it would be a car crash but actually wasn't as terrible as I was expecting...but that's not saying much!

I'm 47 this year and watching it makes you realise that this was the last generation of footballers who really are just like us (who are in and around that age)

I know plenty of friends who have come and gone and are still struggling like Merson and Ruddock - it's no joke about his weight he really does look like a coronary waiting to happen.

They just happened to be good at football and to a certain extent...got out of the loop - for a while.

I found it much better than I thought it would be Merson tonight breaks down having hit the gambling again he came across as a decent sort.
I watched a programme not long ago about bailiffs and some sod hadn't paid his vets bill it was so obviously Ruddock !!!

I'm 52 this year, lost around 15kg over the last 18 mths and if you like a beer or 5 like I do maybe 10 or more on a match day in the pub before and after a home game it ain't hard to pile on the pounds especially if you ain't a gym bunny.

But some of them done well losing weight, think from the trailer for tonight Razor gets a wake up call - bet alot of us do!!

Amazing how athletes at the top of their game have so little understanding of how to look after themselves.

You can bet yr life the Germans, Italians and Spanish are still in tip top shape.

Merson s still got it as well, granted they were playing ladies team but his touch wasn’t bad (apart from his shooting).

I must be a massive cunt because I genuinely didn’t realise that Oxlaide Chamberlain was Mark Chamberlains boy? Unless I knew and forgot because I wasn’t that bothered, quite likely..

I suppose after 10/15+ years of moderation, some go mad on the food and drink when they stop just because they can.

I know I bloody would. I'd be dead from a curry overdose in 3 years tops.

I love Le Tissier...one of my all time favourite players. A certain generation of Spanish players like a lot of the English players from that time...a fair few of the world cup and euro winning ones...who'd a thunk it?

I always liked Merson as a player too...I could never bring myself to dislike him.

I'm quite lucky because most people can eat junk but once they hit 30 it all starts to go pearshaped but I have never put on too much weight as I like the spirits more than the beer but they bring a different set of problems like liver and kidneys for example.

I do have a weakness for kebab (shish or kofte) and burgers but never really been a fan of fried chicken or curry.

Wasn't being a bitch or cunt even - just saying that for some reason my metabolism held up...when others who physically were much more impressive than myself didn't - which surprised me :-)

Bunch of fat mess.

It IS quite entertaining though. Ruddock is such a fucking chancer. LeTissier could possibly still play pro.

Re: Harry's Heroes - Anybody catch this last night?
eusebiovic, it was an absolute disgrace how certain players were ignored by the England set up. the two I mentioned were genius players, it's why I'll always despise the FA

Re: Harry's Heroes - Anybody catch this last night?
Funnily enough today, bored, I watched a Sky made documentary on Le Tissier on YouTube, he spoke about not getting much of a chance with England whilst Hoddle was manager, he mentioned refusing to go and see Eileen while injured and Glenn never spoke to him again.

You'd have thought the one manager who'd have appreciated a player like that would've been Hoddle, but apparently not.

He quite rightly felt ignored whilst the likes of Carlton Palmer and Geoff Thomas were racking up caps.

Athletic Bilbao presented Le Tiss with an award for services to football and being a one club man which appeals to the Basque tradition - Imagine his surprise when he got the call to collect it and everyone treated him like he was one of their own!

Yes...it's been entertaining - maybe because Redknapp hasn't featured too prominently
